With Weinmann's WBZ saw you will be able to cut various dimensions from 20' lumber for specialty walls, balloon frames, angled parts and headers with no time lost for retrieval of raw material or manual setting of the saw.
The system is computer controlled.
Labor is minimized, accuracy is assured and production efficiency is greatly improved.
The system is comprised of a WHP100/1, lumber retrieval robot and a WBZ 100 5-axis saw.
The lumber retrieval robot will pick lumber from the inventory of five (5) bunks of various lumber types and dimensions and then bring the lumber to the saw's live deck automatic in-feed.
In addition to the five bunks which are positioned in the feeder we suggest having additional bunks staged on carts next to the feeder.
The robot and the saw have Homatic controls which are networked together for coordination of the retrieval and cutting sequences.
WHP 100/L Lumber Retrieval Robot -The WHP100/L vacuum pick-up carriage is supported on a single beam gantry.
The vacuum carriage is driven by a servo motor on the gantry guide-way.
The vacuum carriage is programmed to travel to one of five positions where various kinds and dimensions of lumber are held in inventory.
Each of the five inventory positions holds a bunk of lumber on a cart.
Each cart can be moved into and out of position and latched in place.
Thus each cart can be removed to refill it with lumber or to change the type or dimension of lumber.
Each cart has a floor mounted "U" channel guide through which wheels on one side of the cart roll and are thus held in alignment.
When the cart is rolled to the end of the channel an automatic latch engages, so the cart is located precisely and locked in position.
The robotic vacuum carriage is controlled precisely so it can lift one or two or three sticks of lumber at one time.
The control system is programmed to know how many sticks are in each "layer" of lumber of a given bunk size.
The Homatic HCOI 1 control keeps track of the number and location of sticks in the layers.
Thus if you use a portion of a layer of a given bunk and later on you need more sticks from that bunk, the control system will direct the vacuum carriage to the correct position from which to retrieve the sticks you need from that bunk.
For this reason the bunks of lumber must be consistent and located exactly by the rails and latches.
The WHP100/1 HC011 control uses Wood Scout with expert knowledge.
The HC011 is connected to a telephone line for remote diagnostic service through the phone line of the WBZ.
No additional telephone service is needed for the WHP100/L.

The minimum dimension which can be automatically separated by the live deck is 3 1/2".
VVBZ 100 5-Axis Saw - The WBZ is constructed with a very heavy rectilinear steel frame.
A heavy-duty roller conveyor runs through the frame.
Intrinsic to the frame are a precision multi-profile guide-way for an X-axis gripper to position the lumber and a precision Y-axis multi-profile guide-way for saw movements.
The X-axis guide-way is mounted parallel to the roller conveyor.
The Y-axis guideªway is mounted on a heavy steel beam located above and perpendicular to the X-axis gripper guide-way.
One 7.5 kW (10 HP) motor powers the saw.
The saw's Y-axis carriage is equipped with a Z-axis (vertical movement) ball screw drive and a C-axis for the saw rotational movement in relation to Z-axis with a precision gear drive.
The saw motor has an additional A-axis (rotation in relationship to C-axis) precision gear drive.
Two (2) REA ink jet printers are installed on the WBZ to identify lumber with lines and alphanumeric characters.
One printer prints on the top of lumber (wide side) and the other prints on the side of lumber (narrow side).
The printers are controlled by WUP Print software which is included.
REA is sold and serviced here in the USA.
Wood scrap is automatically removed from the machine's floor by a steel sweeping arm.
Scrap which is swept out of the machine needs to be disposed of to a scrap bin or to a grinder.
Machine noise is controlled by an efficient sound enclosure fitted with acoustic panels and a window that permits viewing of the cutting tools while the machine is in operation.
System Operational Description - As directed by the WBZ operator using the WHP100/L's HC011 control.
Lumber is retrieved from one of five carts and placed on the WBZ live deck in-feed by the lumber retrieval robot.
Then the live deck feeds the lumber laterally onto the WBZ infeed conveyor.
Next the BZ CNC-controlled gripper moves the lumber into the saw enclosure where the end of the lumber is sensed to establish a zero reference.
The gripper positions the lumber for an optional trim cut and then advances it for subsequent cutting in accord with programmed geometry.
At the out-feed side of the saw an additional CNC controlled gripper insures accurate positioning and control of the lumber.
The saw blade arbor motor is positioned by multi-axis servo controls.
With X-axis control of the lumber position and Y/Z/C and vector A-axis control of the blade, you are able to cut lumber to any compound angle.
Lumber is fed out of the machine on a roller conveyor.
Then dogs push the lumber laterally onto five extensions that run perpendicular to the out-feed roller conveyor.
Cut lumber is accumulated onto these extensions which are 63" long so that your operator has time to sort the cut lumber for stacking on different job pallets.
Control System - The control system for the stud retrieval robot is a Homatic HC011 which is networked the Homatic PC-85 on the saw.
The Homatic PC-85 on the saw has a Windows XP operator interface (HMI) with a 17" color monitor.

Equipped with (1) faceplate router assembly for latch plate cutout on door, (1) lock set borer for edge and face boring, butt router is built into a mortising "carriage".
Machine upgrades make it very accurate for sizing doors with no snipe that have locking stops to keep bed rollers aligned.
Preset hinge template bars for 80", 84", 90".
And 96" that do not require any adjustment of stops and (2) adjustable bars with stops to do anything in between, this allows for no adjustments needed on the different setups.
Machine rebuilt in 1996 and is currently in use and is being upgraded by the seller to accomodate larger doors...

Capacity will accomodate either flush or raised panel doors with protrusions up to 7/8" high on one or both sides.
Raised moldings must be a min. of 4 1/4" from the lock and hinge sides of the door, will machine jambs that vary in thickness from 11/16" to 1 1/16", can be used to machine jambs only.
Jamb width from 3 1/2" to 7 1/4" when the jambs are attached to the door with hinges, wider jambs can be machined along with the door and attached after the door has been fed out of the machine.
Hinge sizes of 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and 4" x 4" can be attached while the door and jamb are clamped in the machine.
Equipped with computer controlled pre-drill system.
