Description:
Capacity 5 MW hog fuel cogeneration plant with (2) Hurst Hybrid Design Boilers.
Maximum continuous rating of 80,000 lbs.
40,000 lbs each at 450 psig design pressure.
Hog or rubber/hog mix fuel.
Delivered steam condition: 400 psig at 700ºs F at 2800 feet elevation.
Convection heating surface per boiler 5600 sq. ft. per unit.
Superheater 1000 sq. ft. per unit.
Air heaters 2220 sq. ft. per unit.
Water tube section 1880 sq. ft. per unit.
Multicones 800 sq. ft. per unit.
Hybrid section 2050 sq. ft. per unit.
Steam Drum 80" x 20' with 5" fire tube section and 2-1/2" water tube section.
Air Heater Hurst package: Fans & Drives induced draft (2) - 200 HP.
1800 RPM.
Plus one spare.
Fans: Buffalo forged (2) 980 H16 forced draft (2) - 75 HP.
1800 RPM.
Plus one spare.
Buffalo forged (2) 540 BL Reinjection - Miller 5 HP dual reinjection.
Yarway water column with multiple scale gauges.
High/low alarms and dual shutoffs.
Impregnated into three pass flue gas system of fire tube section.
Built entirely of T-1 steel and lined with stainless.

Dependent on operations at that time.
All functions in the plant are controlled by one system and one operator.

Zurn Wet Scrubber with two Venturi inlets and 60" stack.
Settling tank with circulation pumps.

Each pump will supply both boilers.
Water Softeners: Bruner water softener with Mix-Roy 4-station chemical tanks and pumps.
Turbines: Worthington Full Condensing Turbine.

There are also many extras included in this plant - too numerous to mention.
All will be available for inspection.

Foster Wheeler gas/oil fired boiler.
Todd/John Zink low NOX dual fuel burner with gas and oil nozzles.
Fonder Burner computer controls for burner system.
Remote boiler computer controls by TPCI (TurnKey Process Controls) with plasma touch screen and all associated equipment.
All pumps.
Motors.
Fans.
Etc. were disassembled.
Rebearinged and balanced.
The turbine (5 MW) was disassembled and the turbine rotor and generator armature were checked out and balanced.
The air ejector.
Coolers.
Trip throttle valve.
Governor.
Etc. were checked out.
Repaired and refurbished.
The rotors were then laser-aligned and the unit was reassembled.
The transformers and cooling towers were completely inspected and refurbished.
The plant was run at capacity in November and December 2001 and January 2002.
This plant ran at 200 tons per day.
15 tons/hr. at 48% moisture content.
Bark.
Shavings.
Sawdust and up to 5% rubber were burned.
To meet today's E.P.A. guidelines for air particulate.
A precipitator should be installed.
To burn a higher percentage of rubber and higher temperature fuel.
A 5,000º F refractory should be added.
This facility was installed in January of 1991 for $10 million.
It was operated for several years and mothballed in the mid-to-late 1990's.
In 2001.
An additional $2 million was spent to install new computer controls and other upgrades.
The plant was operated until 2002 and has been mothballed since.
The turbine is rolled once a week and the overall plant is in good operating condition.

Shipping & re-installation approx. $1.5 million not including building.
